Heritage Rough Rider .22 Question

So I just picked up my first revolver, the Heritage Rough Rider .22 (Cabela's had them on sale for $120). I hadn't noticed this before as I had shot one of these a few times a week earlier...but when half cocked, there seems to be a good bit of rotational free-play counter-clockwise. When running the ejector rod through, I didn't have to manually align the bore with the rod...the cylinder seemed stiff enough to just rotate and seat perfectly. In other words as I'm rotating the cylinder (to eject casings) it seems to have a lot of freeplay in the opposite direction. I have no idea if this is normal or not...I know half cocked is where the cylinder is free to rotate but i just don't recall the feeling on the one that I shot earlier.

The teeth of the ratchet star are big so the nose of the hand is sitting in a deep valley at half cock. Mine rotates back quite a bit and it doesn't worry me. So long as it locks up solid at full cock I wouldn't sweat it.

That's what I was guessing and hoping. It is as it should be at full cock, so that's good for me. Thanks a bunch.

Ditto. Got mine used a few weeks back, bird's head butt version. Only whinge was the skinny front sight, too hard to pick up for these old eyes, so I made a new thicker one. Much better now.
