I am sick and tired of flippant those who promote the Glock
pistols as the Bees Knees....

THey answer with Glock and a number
* no explanation as to cartridge it is chambered for
* nor mag. capacity as a standard mag.
& nor Full size frame/Compact or SUb COmpact

we're all supposed to know this for the less than 25 yrs
old design that keeps changing.

WHenever I say I have a 1911 I also add 5" Bbl. .45 ACP
and it's been around enough people know what I am defining
Same thing with Browning Hi Power Walther P-38, P-08 LUger
Star 30M etc.

You GLock ownersneed to educate other than GLOCK NN!!!

Yeah, when I say I have a CZ 75B I add 9MMx19 because it
is also available in .40 S&W no model number change but you know
the frame size etc.

SHeeish....

While I think you could've worded what you're saying a little better, I do agree that people should generally list what calibre/other details of an item when said item is their response to a question.

Not all of us drink the Glock Kool-aid.

As much as I dislike the fanboy aura of GLOCKs (and thier finger grooves) I must say, when looking for a hi-cap 10mm pistol, the GLOCK 20 sure does look mighty good...

The design hasn't changed much. Rail and finger grooves is all.

Go there. Click on "models". Educate yourself.

If you don't know what specific Glock model is being referenced, either educate yourself or ignore the post.

I have both 1911s and Glocks. I have a 10mm 1911 Commander and a G30 45 Auto subcompact and a G23 mid size 40 S&W. Is that better?

You don't know your Glock model numbers???!!?!

Really, if I even take the time to give a rat's arse what caliber a Glock (random two digit number here) is, I usually look it up on Glock's site.

Since I don't care for them, it's not often an issue. You should take the same approach. I sympathize with your frustration, though.

Just assume the Glock in question fires both a "nine" and a "fo-tay" and does it under-water, like any true "Ultimate Doom-Bringer" gun can, and you'll sleep better. :D

Man, you might wanna lay off the coffee...

Seriously - Glock fanboys (and fangirls) are the same as the H&K fanboys, the CZ fanboys, and whatever else. If there's a post that confuses you, well, you are on the internet. Google is your friend. If not, feel free to say "hey OP, I don't know about GLOCKs, can you explain that for me?

It's really not that big of a deal.

Maybe I can add a little levity. I don't shoot Glocks as well as I shoot most other pistols; namely the 1911 types. I can certainly align the sights and fire, but the 1911 style pistols and 3rd Gen S&W pistols point more naturally for me.

However, I'm a 20 something one term enlistment Air Force veteran turned college student. I work at a gun shop to support my shooting hobby and make some spending money. Despite my very strong personal preferences for other pistols, I like selling Glocks. They're relatively cheap when compared to their competition from HK, SIG, and the various US 1911 manufacturers. They're lightweight for their size and capacity, and they're pretty soft shooting too. They're easier than many pistols to field strip, and they're utterly reliable. Spare magazines are cheap and easy to get too. I have a very hard time not recommending a Glock 19 (that's the approx 4" bbl mid size 15 round 9mm) or 17 (that's the approx 4.5" bbl. full size 17 round 9mm) to a new shooter wanting a semi-auto. The XD offers a grip safety for folks who must have an external safety, the changeable back straps on the M&P line help it fit a wider variety of hands, and the FNP offers an external hammer for those that prefer it. Those are the primary competitors and their differentiating features vs. Glock in terms of equal price point, build quality, and size / capacity for weight.

Glock fans may be zealous, even overly so, but the guns have merit to back much of it up.

I want a G18 and a G28, then my kool aid will taste like the Lemon-berry slush from Sonic.
Oh as for the rant, not everyone likes 1911s. Do they work sure, do I like them, nope, but you dont see me knocking someone else's choice of rig.
I prefer weapon systems with a grip angle like the Ruger standard I grew up with.
It's not personal! We now return you to your' regularly scheduled presentation.

I HATE GLOCKS

But I want one of them ceramic GLOCKs that's Xray invisible & costs two years pay.

ABSOLUTE BEST GLOCK POST EVER

However, in just a few minutes a Glock fanboy will come by and post a link to a test where a Glock was put in a blender filled with Drano, sulfuric acid, Coca-Cola, pirahna, and 2 pounds of industrial diamonds. A CAT D8bulldozer was then dropped on it from 1000 feet. The owner picked up the Glock, chambered a 155mm HE round, hit a post-it note at 917 miles, and then proceed to run 726,761 rounds of Wolf ammo coated with Gorilla Glue with no failures.
Oh , IBTL

I believe the OP is being a little sarcastic. No big deal. I have glocks and I will admit that I refer to them as the 3 digit G19 and G26. I do this because the G19 only comes in one caliber and one frame / slide / barrel configuration. They come in both black and od green. This also goes for the G26.

When I had an XD I would refer to it as an XD45 Fullsize.

I look at it like this. Go to Google.

Typically if the specifications of a particular firearm apply to a given discussion, the poster will note this.

Unless there is only one configuration as is the case with most glock titles.

sold um

I am now a retired gun dealer of over 40 years. Sold hundreds of glocks. they were the easiest guns to sell back then. They gave no problems. They were affordable. gun dealers liked both of those features.

I will agree that glock owners are like 1911 owners. They will defend their turff. I see nothing wrong with that either. If you don't like glocks or 1911's, just pass right over on any thread talking about them. Why hammer a glock owner who loves his glocks and wants to brag about them???

Would never buy a glock as they remind me of the lowering of standards
of modern america however I will fight to defend your right(glock owners)
to purchase them.:D

1911=work of art.
