These will be available shortly.

The magazines are made from plastic, just like the current ones but this should be stronger by a bit without being brittle. The feed lip geometery is the EXCATLY same as the orginal magazines, the numbers were taken from the original Russian drawings.

FBMG is in the magazine business. :) These will fit the .308 Saiga.

Now when we have the endless debate thread about which .308 MBR to pick, you've got a whole 'nother option. :D

I think I just soiled myself with excitement! :D

What's the price point? I could see dishing out $50 per mag for that.

We haven't set firm pricing yet, but we will keep them as reasonable as possible.

I just hope this isn't more of the same yes we do no we don't crap. I bought a CETME instead of a siaga 308 because of the mag availablity issues. I'll keep my fingers crossed and my checkbook ready.

S&W, take a look at my rep, take a look at PvtPyle's rep. We're the guys behind FBMG, and if we say that we're going to have magazines, then we're going to have magazines. :)

I almost wet myself when I saw this over at the Saiga12 forums. Way to go, guys! Talk about a market in dire need. Gives me an excuse to convert my saiga finally. I really hope the price is right enough for me to get enough to start attending 3-gun matches.

Are these really available or available in the same sense as the saiga 12 mags? (ie- almost ready for the next 3 years)

Sweet, the molds are almost done, I should have just enough time to repeal the 86 ban.

Beerslurpy, FBMG isn't associated with the people making the 10-round 12 ga. mags, other than to be in line to buy the majority of the first batch. It was waiting around and listening to other people talk about making high cap mags that made us decide to just do it ourselves. We will have firm pricing and a time line posted in the next week or so.

The .308 Vepr has a narrower magazine well. This mag will not work in the Vepr.

Wait, you guys are doing this yourselves? In that case I apologize. I assumed it was one of the aforementioned clowns that had promised similar things and not delivered.

I hope you guys do well enough with this that it encourages you to do further magazine ventures.

Yeah man, this is all us, and Tony Rumore of Tromix with his valuable input.

SB88LX-

Price - cheap. The base guns are only $347. Our tricked out Tromix versions are only in the low $700 range. Compare that to most .308 MBR type rifles.
Quality - excellent. It is an AK, but the Russian commercial versions are the best.
Reliability - it is an AK action. They run well, even when filthy.
Accuracy - about 2 MOA or better.

Basically the goal here is that next time somebody starts a poll about which MBR to buy (which happens about every three days :p ) this is another option.

I will definitely be buying some when they arrive. The mags are the only thing keeping me from buying a Saiga-308. At $30-40 for an 8rd for the Saiga made me go out and buy a PTR-91. But with some high cap mags, I'll add a Saiga to my collection as well. I already have a Saiga-20 that I love.

Wow those are very nice and something I know has been long waited for. Are the feed lips metal lined or all polymer?

What is the current deal with Saiga importation? Are they readily available again?

Fingolfin,

The feed lips are made of plastic. They are exactly the same as the lips on the factory 8 rounder. Testing has shown that these lips can handle the pressure from 20 plus rounds with no deformation at all.

Saigas are being imported, and are readily available again. Russian American Armory is the importer. FBMG is one of their distributors. We currently have quite a few .308s in stock, Tromix conversions and regular guns.

Keep in mind that the one you see in the picture is a final proto type that is made out of a relatively fragile ABS plastic. That said, I did the final test firing of the mag this morning and it worked flawlessly for feeding and function. I tried various loads, and various numbers of rounds and it fed them all perfectly. The problem came when I dropped it and broke the fragile front clip off. But a bit of super glue and it was back in business.

We have made the decision that we are going to offer complete mags and just the mag bodies as replacements. Both will be on our web site for the pre-orders starting this weekend. The pre-order will run until July 7th and then they will go to full retail. Pricing will be on the web site, but they are going to retail in full at less than the hit and miss conversions.

Delivery time is looking like the first part of August and will be filled in the ordered that they were received.

Thanks to everyone for their support and input on the project, we are very happy to have this finally functional and the final molds in production. I can now see why the other companies are having delays, but if they don't start putting out the 12ga mag VERY soon..... well we are working on some other cool stuff as we speak.

You guys rock. I'll be buying a Tromix .308 from yall soon, as the mag was the only thing holding me back. Yeehaw!
