I got one for Chritmas and thought I would post my experience as there always seems to be a lot of interest in this rifle.

Took it to the range and was impressed. Fun to shoot, no recoil, reasonable priced 9MM ammo, and more accurate then me.

Put 60 rounds through the rifle, did have one failure to feed (quickly cleared jam and continued on)

Some may feel slightly heavy gun but fine for me. I also ordered the buttpad and 2 extra magazines, I find these actually seem to balance out the rifle as it is definately lighter on the buttstock.

For size, controllability, and price - Great value and believe would make an excellent home defense choice. Very easy to handle and shoot reasonably well

Cheers

Cool--I've been thinking of getting one of these just for fun if nothing else.
I know folks like to slam them but everyone I know that has one has good stuff to say. Great price ,American made, lifetime warranty--really can't lose

Brew, what range do you head to? I'm starting to look for something a little closer than Saukville.

My brother just got one, he thought it was so ugly he refuses to shoot it until he gets an ati stock to make it look like the barretta cx4.

Sure it's ugly, but it's accurate enough for plinking and self defense, it always goes bang when the trigger is pulled, it's cheap to buy and cheap to shoot.

Guns don't have to beautiful, guns have to be accurate enough for the chosen task, and above all, guns have to be reliable. My 995 fits these criteria perfectly.

No complaints with mine. Its one of 2 guns that stays loaded in the safe for those "I hope it never comes to that." situations.

OK, I do have one complaint.... To detail strip the gun, you have to remove the front sight and you lose your zero.

Have you tried different bullet weights in it? I once fired some 115-grain FMJs and 147-grain FMJs through a 995 into a water tank, and found that the 115s weren't stabilized at all; they were stripping straight through the rifling. I didn't get a chance to see what it would do on papaer at longer distances, but I've been curious about it since.

You can clean it!????

I've had mine for almost a decade and never cleaned it once. It always goes bang and then I just toss it back in the safe.
