Lots of talk on these weapons

Here is my 2 cents

Great gun for price, I live in urban area of Milwaukee and am preparing fmily for worst.

I put a green dot site and my wife can handle it fine , she is very recoil shy and will only shoot ..22 pistol I have for her. she is comfortable shooting this weapon and i am thankful for her ability to now handle this weapon (Hi point)

cheap and it works, I reccomend it I a can't spend a lot of money right now but will pick up another one these.

Save your money and prepare, keep you family and freinds close

God bless.

They are reliable and cheap. Those two rarely fit together in the same sentence but I had a well worn 995 for a while and it went bang every time with factory mags (never mind the Pro mag Hi Cap Garbage that made it a jam-o-matic). I'm actually waiting patently for the 45ACP version in new stock.

I like mine. It's inexpensive, but not cheap. It's reliable. The recoil is extremely mild. Perfect for close-in varmint hunting on the family farm where one needs more power than a .22LR, but doesn't need or can't use a .223 Rem.

Couldn't think last night of which firearm to take to the range today. Well, this thread gave me the idea. I hadn't fired my Hi-Point 995 in a while. Let's just say it became the "Hi-Point" of my day. :neener: Yes, that was "punny".

The following targets were fired off-hand (no sling), using iron-sights at 15 yards. The ammo was Speer Lawman 115 gr ammo. Each target was 30 rounds.

I'd say the Hi-Point 995 is worth every penny of the asking price.

I have heard many good reports about the carbine and I've been thinking of getting one for my son, SOG has them on sale. Do the pistol mags work in the carbine?

I love my 995, and the warranty is unbeatable.

I got it for $60 at a pawn shop with a cracked stock and broken firing pin. I sent it off to the company, and got it back with a sling, 2 extra mags, and in basically like-new condition. I dunno what they did, but the darn thing looks like it's never been fired.

Had mine out today, sporting its ATI stock. I was getting 4"-6" groups at 100 yards, shooting Wolf ammo over open sights. Really can't ask for better than that. They really shine between 25 and 50 yards.

I sold mine! :( I'm moving to California and they consider it to be a full-blown assault rifle, and hence it is illegal. Loved it - very accurate. But, it went to a good home - my brother - AND I replaced it with a .357 16" bbl levergun!
