Hi Power - installing current ambi safety in a Mark-II gun?

Hello, I have an alloy-frame HP with the old-style safety, which is very difficult to manipulate. I also have a used current style safety lever assembly which I bought on THR a long time ago.

I was wondering if I should expect to be able to drop the safety assembly right into the old gun. Are these compatible?

And another question: my ambi safety assembly does not have the detent. Do you think the detent from the old safety is the same one as the type found in the current safety?

It should work just fine. Use the old detent.

You might have to file the contact point of the safety but you will not know until you try.
