I am looking to replace the hammer and sear, and get a complete pin and spring kit for my Hi-Power. So far, the only souce I can find is Brownell's with a few major items from Cylinder & Slide and fairly expensive parts from Browning.

I thought there would be of an aftermarket offering somewhat like the 1911 which has multiple suppliers of even the pin and spring kits and practically every other part. Not so.

Does anyone have a good source of quality but reasonably priced parts for the Hi-Power?

Aftermarket BHP parts...

The Cylinder and Slide hammer, sear, and extractor are heat treated. They furnish the heat treatment number with each part. Their extractor comes with a, supposedly, extra power extractor spring.

As far as springs go, Wolff markets replacement magazine springs, std power, + 5%, and +10%. Wolff also markets std and extra power recoil springs. Hammer springs, (the mainspring), can be had with std or reduced power strengths.

You didn't ask, but I'll offer this obversation anyway. Changing the hammer, hammer spring, sear, sear spring may initally seem to make the trigger pull a bit better, but its no substitute for al trigger job done professionally by someone who knows what he is about. Also, swaping out springs in one area can have un-intended consequences elsewhere.

salty.

Salty is right here. I sent mine to OnTarget Custom Gunworks to have Jess throw n a new commander hammer, trigger and springs. He is replacing the main spring with a 28lbs (stock 32lbs) and recoil spring with an 18.5lbs (stock 16lbs). This will allow for easier cocking of the hammer and still take +P loads no problem. As for other sources, you can get the parts from C&S directly. I've found the 'smith discount is worth it. I would recommend someone who is VERY familiar with HP do the work. The trigger can be messed up if you're not careful. YMMV
