I wanted a .22 target pistol and the LGS had a selection of Hi Standards including a Sport King and a few HD Military. I did some research and this not only seemed clearly to be the one to get—but also happened to be the cheapest.

It’s not a Hamden gun, but looks good to me!

My High-Standard 107 shoots CCI Green Tag best

I love the High Standards and I think you made a fine purchase. Like Jeff Olson says I only shoot standard velocity through my target pistol (S&W Model 41) and I recommend you do the same with your High Standard.

Hi Standards end up on the used market because of jamming issues and not understanding how these function. If you are familiar with how these feed from the magazines you're GTG. If not and you're getting FTF's Google "How to adjust Hi Standard Military Magazines" and get or make the adjustment tool! Once you learn how "easy-peasy"!

Nice looking pistol. Keep in mind that the magazine follower on most Hi Standard pistols serves as the feeding ramp. The condition and configuration of the magazine "lips" as well as its spring means everything when it comes to reliability on these pistols.

Great pistol! Looks in really good shape. My buddy has a Sport King. It's very accurate!

How many mags did your gun come with? I believe the mags are expensive for High Standard's

Enjoy!

I have two High Standard Supermatic Citations, a model 103 and 107. They are well built, accurate Target pistols. I would use standard velocity ammo only as they seem to shoot better. You might consider changing the recoil spring as well. InterarmsTX.com has parts for these pistols. They have mags as well.

Just one unfortunately, but it was $399 so I didn't complain.

What are the differences in the models? My LGS just got a Victory model for $499 used. Kinda curious about getting it

I have had a number of HS Target .22s, including the Supermatic Citation. Currently I only have a Hamden made Victor.

$499 for a used Victor is a very good price. Pull the slide back and make sure the magazine well does not have a crack in it. Usually on the top of the well . I have never seen one with a crack but always inspect the mag well before buying one.

only use standard velocity ammo(1080 ft/s)in it
Is standard velocity same as "subsonic". I have plenty of subsonic for my 22LR bolt gun rifle, not sure if they are the same as standard velocity and I have not tried in my handguns. I have a Hamden High Standard Citation made in late 50s or 60s but look like new, A friend sold me cheap when he retired and moved to another state, he said he shot only a few boxes and the gun indeed look like new. I have not even shot it yet! It came with the original box and receipt, $110! He sold me at $360 about 10 yrs ago.
