Hello, THR! Hope you don't mind the clutter, but I just wanted to delurk myself and say hi. :D The name is Tomás Rodriguez, and I'm out here in the PRK. I'm a computer geek, caught in the wave of the dot-com fiasco, and for some reason, I'm still here in CA after it's all said and done. I'm fairly new to shooting, even though I grew up around guns (father was an ARMY NCO and a shooter himself), and have owned a pistol for about 5 years. It was just never a big thing with me. Then I fell in love with a Ruger 10/22 and my world changed. Suddenly, I was at the range at least once a week, I cared about local/national politics, I cared about my rights to own this firearm, and I cared about others' rights to own firearms. I'm now a member of the Gun Owners of California (still waiting for them to take my money, even though I got a newsletter!), and a contributing supporter of Tom McClintock. I'll probably join the NRA as well. But one step at a time.

Anyway.. He're my toys.

Smith and Wesson 22A, 5.5" standard barrel mounted, 7" standard barrel shown above, BSA PB30 30mm Red Dot sight, and my pocket folder, a CKRT M16 Special Forces.

7" barrell with mounted red dot sight. I hate it. I'm terrible with it. :fire:

My baby. This started as a standard 10/22 stainless, but after several hundred rounds, I started doing research on how to get more performance out of it. I still have some mods to make, but right now, it's got an 18" GM Stainless fluted barrel, Hogue OM stock, Volquartsen auto bolt release, extended mag release, and extractor, weaver rail, a Tasco 3-9X32 .22 riflescope with awful rings. I need to get a trigger job next. =P Its favorite food is Winchester Super X. Also shown are my Gerber multitool (never leave home without it!) and my Gerber MarkII (to be left at home in the PRK!).

My other baby. He's responsible for making extra sure I clean my weapons, due to covering them in hair.

Anyway, enough rambling...

THR is a daily read for me, and I thank all of the posters and members for providing such wonderful reading material during an otherwise monotonous workday. Again, HELLO! =D

Make yourself at home and get comfortable! As you've probably discovered as a lurker we run the gamut from cantankerous curmudgeons to cuties to the wet-behind-the-ears kids.
You'll fit in just fine!
Bring your friends!

Trisha

Thanks for the welcome! :D

The dog's name is Falco von Kleiner Fuerball, but since that's a pain to say, I call him 'Harley' (I was looking into buying an FXDWG at the time, but I got the dog instead. I think the bike woulda been cheaper).

And I'd bring more friends, if I had more friends who liked shooting! :p The only shooters I know escaped already. :banghead:

Oh well!

Sorry to sound like I'm arguing with you in your first thread, but here goes:

It ain't clutter, and you're not rambling. :D

WELCOME! Nice pictures; Cool Dog.

Welcome aboard!

You can learn a lot from the members here - I learn something new here everyday (although my wife insists that I am incapable of learning....:D )

Welcome Tom. Nice guns & nice doggy. Consider dropping in for the THR shoot this month.
