Anyone familiar with These?
I realize it isn't a safe, and wouldn't plan on using it as such, but was wondering about how secure they really are, how easy they would be to pry open (not talking about ripping it out of a wall) and how tough the locking mechinism is on them (ie:smash the print reader/key pad and the door falls open) etc....

Don't know anything about that particular safe.

But, when i was in the security business, we used to mount similar (in wall) safes, some of which were pretty sturdy (1/4" plate steel)...and the weak point was always the mounting, not the safe. In a frame wall, you're basically stuck mounting it to the studs...a coupla good shots witha prybar and out it comes (then they can open it later, at their leisure, most aren't so heavy that they can't be easily carried.

If you can mount them into/onto a concrete wall, its much better.

And in all cases, anything "creative: you can do to disquise the safe or its location, is the biggest plus. I've seen and done some pretty neat concealment tricks over the years.

Conceptually, I think these are wonderful. I'd love to have something that is easily concealed that would open instantly with a single touch.

In reality, biometrics are a little tricky still. This product is expensive and unproven. Until it gets some real use, I don't think I'd trust my family to it. I'll just continue to carry my gun until I get ready for bed and then put it next to the bed.
