High Point 9mm

I am looking at the High Point 9mm but can't get information. Are they a single or double action? How good are they? Any input from someone who owns one.

Not the best firearms, but if you just want to try handgun shooting for under $120 you can't go anywhere else. For Self defense, if you can, save your money up and get something nicer.

Scottw, your best bet is to do an advanced search of THR for Hi-Point in the Autoloaders forum. They have been disussed at lenhth here. They are functional weapons, but if budget allows used S&W autos can be found in the mid $200s. New Ruger P Series autos will run right at $300, and used models can be found for much less. If you aren't dead set on an auto a used S&W Model 10 or similar service revolver can be easily found for $200, give or take $25. All are, in my opinion, much better built and nicer firearms. However, do the search, read up, and form your own opinion.
