high point mags?

What's the deal with those huge floor plates in the high point .40/.45 pistol mags? does someone make a aftermarket mag with a normal base plate?

Most important, Can you grind or cut them down??

I don't think anyone makes aftermarket mags for them. I think the pre polymer 45 had a flush mag but I may be wrong. A quick call to hi-point might help. The old style mags may fit.
