We finally got approval from the school board last spring and have one season under our belts. We are heading toward the end of season two with our nine kids, ranging from 15 to 18 years of age. Four had some experience, five little to none.
My older son, our club president, one other member, and I are the club coaches along with one staffer from the school.
Kids have made great progress.
Ava, from a 13/50 her first time, is breaking in the mid 30s, and she has some vision issues. T, an autistic that my son stays with for each whole session at from 6 the first week to over 30. We've had two 25 straights, a couple of 47 and 48s.
Fourth or fifth out of the eight schools in our conference.
The best part, long with the skills development is seeing the relationships developing, the total lack of jealousy or snarkiness, and the extreme safety awareness.
And my granddaughter is flirting with the forties.
Just about as much fun each week with them as shooting a fifty myself, nah, more.
Guns used, range from a Mossberg 500 with a corncob on the end and a car tire sidewall recoil pad through an 870 Wingmaster, an Express, a Winchester 1400, a BT99, a Benelli Montefeltro, an Ethos, an 1100, and a 3200.
Each week I check all for cleanliness, safety and function, with their owner.
