A local gun shop is selling a High Standard AR-15 for $820. What's your guys' opinions on this AR?
This'll be my first gun, by the way. It just looks awesome.

Yep, and you'll only pay for it 5 times as they fraudulantly charge your credit card!As an alternative, in the same general price range, you could put together something like this:
Code:Model 1 1:9 16" 5.56 Chrome Moly upper (A2 or A3) 315.00 (1) (2) M1S charging handle 16.00 M1S A2 buttstock complete 55.00 Bravo Company BCG 130.00 Geissele SSA trigger 145.00 (3) WOA triggerless LPK 41.00 Gunshow lower 120.00
For a total of $822 - call it $850 with all the shipping. It's not one of the $650-700 budget builds, but it is a fairly inexpensive rifle that will likely do all that you ask it to, forever.
(1) Substitute a Del-Ton if you'd rather have a Wilson barrel than an ER Shaw Barrel
(2) Add $35 for chrome lined chamber & bore if you feel like you need it - you don't
(3) Substitute an LMT two stage trigger if you can't wait for an SSA
