Ok I know that there are few of them out there, the price on gun broker seems to have been flat for the last 10 years and now the price of a new S&W 44 mag will set you back more then the last cursader i saw go on gun broker, so I ask my self why not shoot it, What does every one think.............thanks Wayne

I think the guns are called "Crusaders" not cursaders.

.357 Magnums are more common than .44 Magnums and .41 Magnums and .45 Colts are all but non existent.

The only one I'd be reluctant to shoot would be one of the initial run with the gold inlaid Crusader and sword on the right side

check out wsgoutfitters page guns for sale 3
they didn't make any 357's just 44m and 45's went out of business before 357's were made. just ask a woman

The gun on page 3 looks just like the one I have my SS4xx is in 44 mag I dont know where I read that the crusader on the side is a 1oz 10k gold piece ( I dont know for sure) but the gun is very well made( near as I can see with out shooting it) I have watched the crusader on gun broker for years and the value has been flat for years now the price of a new s&w 44 mag is more then what I can sell this for, guns as art is one thing but a gun as a gun that you can use is good ...........wayne

bobbidoll it may be 'the other High Standard' revolver i am thinking of in .357

It was many many years ago when we had those guns in the shop I worked for and not many ever came in.

To all who that are interested, the hi-Standard collector sight has a list of who the Crusaders were shipped to (distributors) we ordered ours when they first advertized they were going to be produced. not all the 500 of each callibers were ever shipped. None of the 357's and not all of the 45's and 44's. Dealer price was higher than what I see advertized now. if that is an oz. of gold on the side, wouldn't the price start at $1100. for the gold + the gun?

Linky?

I don't believe any of the .45 Colts were ever shipped but a few were made and distributed to special people or some such.

Go to wsgoutfitters.com page 3, I show a picture of one of the guns, I have 3 44m's and 3 45's pairs serial numbered alike, #'s 89, 90, 91. and the only persons I am special to are my Husband and sons,

Oh I would say so.
That is a very nice group of goodies you are selling there.
Are you hitting any of the shows?
Sangamon, Princeville?

Went to Sagamon abt 30-35 years ago, went to all their shows, the only show we go to now is Robinson, IL. and we don't cary these guns around, the ones on the list that say display mean I vacuum packed them and showed them at shows in plastic and under glass. We traveled all over the US to shows, When the Batf stopped gun sales to dealers at shows we stopped selling guns at shows, we had a few display guns but most were personal retirement collection. We travled in a converted Silver Eagle bus.
