These were nice but not too refined. I had a couple over the years but suffered small parts breakage with moderate use. Wish they were made CNC with beefing up lock work. Nice to collect , clean ,shoot to check point of impact, clean and keep around for very occasional use!:)

Hmmmm I sort of vaguely remeber that ex-brother in law had a High Standard Sentinel in .357Maggy or 38Spl, not clear on that. Was a snubby model, maybe a 3" barrel. Shot decently, but I think it was one of those to carry a lot shoot a little.

I've never understood how the maker of America's premier .22 caliber semi-automatic pistols managed to slap its name on so much other junk. I've looked at several High Standard revolvers over the years, and all were low budget guns with mediocre designs, sloppy fit and finish, and lots of plain old-fashioned ugliness. I've seen .22 caliber Sentinels for $79.99 in pawn shops, but couldn't justify the expense.

I've heard the company private-labelled some Dan Wesson revolvers, which would probably be pretty good guns.

Toward the end of its life, High Standard developed the Crusader revolver in .44 magnum and .45 long Colt. It was said to have a geared lockwork, and was definitely a pretty gun, but I've to confess I've never actually handled one. I saw one in a gun shop with a $2,500 price tag, but it was way beyond my means.
