I'm looking to add a scope to my K31 for some long range shooting. I checked out some decent scopes for less than $350 and would to get some opinions. The optics Im considering are:
Nikon 4.5 x 14 mildot
Burris 3x10 bplex
Vortex 6x18

What else should i add under $350?
I will shoot to 1,000 yds (might try to 1,400 but just for laughs)
I'm also doing this for fun, not really to win matches. I would like this setup to last awhile.

Mmmm... under $350'ish and workable for long range huh? "1000 yards" and "$350 scope" are generally not two terms used in a common sentence. ;)

Bushnell and Redfield... and if you're feeling extra frisky, you might want to take a look at Nikko Sterling, Konus, Leapers and Hawke. I've had some experience with the last 4... they don't have the fine fit and finish of more costly scopes, but you get decent glass and several (sometimes) useful features for your money.

A Konus Pro M30 8.5-32x52 is a good scope for the money. It has coated glass and is better quality than I would ever expect for a $350 scope. I had it given to me as a bonus for buying a 50bmg. They have an unconditional lifetime warranty. I have one and it is really a great scope for a sub $500 budget. I loaned it to my brother and he still uses it. The other Konus scopes I won't vouch for though.

Thanks for the input. So i take it that no one has a great experience with these mid priced Burris or Nikons?

Sorry... No. Give it a day or two... there's bound to be at least a few owners of those specific optics, or at least something close.

Thanks again for the help. The Konus looks great but might be too big for a clamp on mount. I'm thinking of trying something a bit smaller to try and then put on another rifle if its not enough. I'm currently optic challenged on my rifles, so no scope will go wasted!

With the Konus, I had to use Tactical High rings. But it did come with some, I believe, I just didn't like the as good. I personally would give the Nikon a try. I have never had any issues with their other stuff.
