Hey everyone
I just moved to Nashville from Vermont and I am looking to join a rifle club that has a good highpower program. I am a novice to the sport having shot only a few matches in Boulder and Byers Colorado and Hampden Maine. I am looking to be re-introduced to High Power shooting.

I am currently equipped with a rack grade Armscorp M14 and a Remington made rack grade 1903A3 springfield that I have almost completed in rebuilding.

If you know of a rifle club in the Nashville area that does high power shooting please let me know.

Thanks
Brother in Arms

actually, this is the place to go in TN for highpower

but the basic answer to your question is:

there is a 100 yrd reduced course in cookeville, TN at bend of the river. VERY laid back. not well attended, but very enjoyable. an easy couple of hours.

the warren county rifle club hosts monthly matches at the tn national guard range in tullahoma. they shoot 200/300/600 there, and also mid- and long-range prone out to 1000 yrds. matches are monthly, but occasionally canceled when the guard needs to use the range, so scheduling is annoying, but good group of guys

orsahp.com is oak ridge sportsman's association. about a 2.25 hr drive for you, but well worth the trip. very nice facilities; range goes out to 1000 too. they host regionals and some national level matches. the army marksmanship and marine shooting teams always come shoot our registered matches in may and june. big ed's is coming up soon!

there's also regular matches further east, further southeast (chattanooga) and way out west in memphis.

The next 600 yard XTC Highpower Rifle match at the National Guard Range at AEDC will be Sunday 11 April 2010.

Register at 0800 and shoot at 0900. Match is typically complete by 1700.

This will be an 88 round match.

It has been difficult to arrange matches at AEDC, first priority is to the military . Don’t expect any matches in July, Aug because the Match Director wants to avoid heat stroke. His, not yours. :neener: At best there is one XTC match per month.

Directions at this URL are from Huntsville AL, which is 90 South of Nashville, but the pictures might be helpful as you get close to the National Guard Range.
