Higonokami folding knife

I've always wanted a "Japanese Steel" folder. Just to add to the collection. I dont have one single Japanese blade in my collection.

I love the Higonokami. But I'm kind of muddied up on what that can mean. I've done a little research and I believe Nagao Kanecoma makes a true to the name knife.

Can anyone help out on what to buy. I know a lot of manufacturers will have Chinese steel but assembled in USA or vice versa. I'd like real Japanese steel.

That's exactly what I'm looking at. hso, do you have any experience with these? If so, what are your impressions?

There's also Higo no Kami. To skirt trademarks? I'm finding simple folders at $25, give or take. Seems light.

I'd found one of these many years ago and had no idea what it was.
Now I'm getting one to replace the one that I once had.

Citadel Knives of Cambodia has a couple of Japanese designs. I visited their factory in Phnom Penh years ago and was impressed. I bought the folding Khukri and now wish I had also bought the Ratanakiri.

Kinda,if you don't count the lock. There's no lock on a higonokami. There are other sheet metal body knives like the Douk Douk and I can't remember any that are close enough because of the locks.



Lots of interesting higonokami folders out there.
