After about 1 yr my Gemtech Blackside finally arrived. Made it home just before dark and decided to run a mag through it. Luckily I live way out in the sticks and my "range" is off my front porch. Targets were a collection of old appliances left by previous owners of the property over the years scattered about 100 yds out along the hillside. Hits verified by audible ping of bullet striking old refrigerators and stoves. 7 out of 15 hits scored, not that I was really aiming, Was smiling and laughing to hard.

Impression of Blackside...... Sound suppresion was good. A non viewing person hearing the report would not be able to tell that this was a gun being fired. Still, much louder than my Gemtech 22 silencer. Sounds like a big book being dropped about 10 ft onto a carpeted floor. Makes the gun front heavy, which really changed the felt recoil. Never had any issues with 40 recoil, but felt pretty peppy with the silencer on it. Lots of smoke. Seemed more like shooting black powder rifle. Silencer is big enough it obscures sights, both top sights and lasermax integral sights. Made accurate shooting hard. I usually can score 13 out of 15 on the appliance range.

Next will try out Blackside on mechtech carbine.
