I would apply, but I'm allergic to the phrase "rat fink".

Agreed. I don't like hanging out with idiots and i stay as far away as possible.

That being said, Im going to fill it out and try. I have shot and am pretty proficient with a very very wide range of weapons.

JOe

If they would pay my bills while I'm gone ---I would consider it.

Unfortunately I have:
Child Support
Back Taxes
House Payment
Car Payment
Insurance for it all
Medical Bills for what the insurance doesn't cover
Etc etc etc......................

The good thing about the show is it does not show gunners as slobbering crazy drunks. They show then as normal everyday guys except for the drama stuff the producers encourage to make the show more "interesting". Plus its mainstream and in prime time.

Despite the Drama I think it reflects well on gunners. Remember they have an hour to fill and the drama part may interest the ladies. It did something right because it is going into season 2. Heck it might even get a few folks interested in the shooting sports.

I would enjoy more shooting and less talking but then it would just make the outdoor channel.

I did like the flintlock part until they swapped guns midstream.

All things said, it's worthwhile to go have a look at the requirements. It casts an interesting light on how tough it is to cast one of these shows.

Basically, they are looking for someone who is photogenic and free to do about a month's worth of filming. Shooting skill is secondary.

A lot of people have been a bit disappointed about the absence of the big names in the shooting sports. Frankly, leaving out the fact that many of the top shots are not terribly pretty, the top-flight competitors can't take a month out of their training schedule.

Not to mention so specialized that they probably wouldn't do well. Not knocking them, but if you're going to be a world class pistol competitor you probably aren't going to be a world class long range rifleman, shot gunner, archer, knife thrower, and... Well you get the picture.

Sad if it boils down to who has the best hair, makeup, and body......may be a lot of talented people overlooked.

Reminds me of Englands Susan Boyle who proved the best singer didn't need a pretty face to win. Works that way in shooting too....

The application does not act like they care how good you are.

They ask a lot about your philosophies and reasons why you shoot and like guns. They also ask about how you get along with others and what kind of people you like and dont like. I can only think that this is so they can choose a healthy mix of people who can get along with anyone and people who are so enraging that even the people who can get along with anyone will hate them and backstab them and plot and form alliances.

You know, the standard reality TV thing.

if iw as 1 year older i would apply.

just so i could get on the show, suck, get into a big argument and go on a rant about how the show is a BS drama contest that doesnt accomplish anything
