Adler also has a book, "Colt Blackpowder Reproductions and Relicas", published in 1998. It's a great book but is a little hard to find now, and can be expensive.
"In the late 1950s, Val Forgett, the founder of Navy
Arms, and Italian gunmaker Aldo Uberti selected the
Colt 1851 Navy as the first percussion era revolver to be
reproduced."
Val Forgett, father of the modern replica firearms business and a Clemson man. Yay Clemson!!!! Hehehehe, had to sneak that one in.
