With the passing of Art Eatman, and others both recently and in the past, I've gotten to thinking about the How,When and Why The High Road came about.
Although my join date doesn't reflect it I was here early on and have hung around. It is probably the gun site with the best behaved and knowledgeable members around as well as having a lot of variety in the assorted Forums.
Thanks Everyone.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it was a few guys that got tired of the "wild west" nature of TFL and thus started THR, but I could be completely wrong.

When Rich Lucibella closed TheFiringLine, he urged the members of TFL to go out on our own. Some boards did spring up but the. most success was started by Oleg Volk who came to TFL as cornered rat. A former resident of the USSR, he was a gift photographer who was very aware of propaganda and how civil liberties and rights could be squashed by an authoritarian government. Oleg formed THR on the model of TFL and many of us including Art migrated here. When the site became commercialized with. ads, Oleg Volk was no longer associated with it.

BTW, since the opening of THR, TFL reopened and there are several of us who moderate at both boards.
