I just called both of mine. There's no reason we shouldn't do everything we can no matter how small to fight this crap. It probably took you longer to write that reply than to hit that petition
 
We really need to forward this to our state representatives. That way they'll see how we feel about it.

Maybe I'm a skeptic, but looking at who is sponsoring this site I began to wonder once the signatures have peaked, the topic might change to an ANTI gun petition. Food for thought.
 
We must be making a big impact in Washington. When I asked to speak with my congresscritter the person who answered the phone said "You must be a gun owner." When I asked how she knew, she said "That's the way you people talk about your elected representatives." I got a good glow all over. We are on a roll!

Next thing I call Shrub. I'm going to call all the bozos who can help us. Do the same and let your clowns know what you want. :)
 
My comments.

We need to enforce the laws we have on the crimminals. They need to be jailed for their crimes not released after they need room for a new tenant. Charges for crimes need to be studied, we should not be spending tax dollars housing non violent offenders. Plus my guns don't cause crime, criminals cause crime.

said my peice, about to hit 4,600 this poll probably does next to nothing, but anything that we can do to fight this is worth it, the less we do to fight it the more that will be on the way
 
A buddy of mine just emailed me about this petition. He got it via the FAL website. He's passing it on, and hollering at everybody he knows to sign and pass it on.

Irate? Seriously bad language!

Why does anyone think an online petition is going to accomplish anything???

Write or call your lawmakers instead. You're wasting your time with an online petition. They're too easily forged or "stacked" with unverifiable "signatures", and take too little effort to "sign". If there were 100,000,000 "signatures" on it, it would have as much effect as if there was one.

I especially hate these damn things because people "sign", think "OK, I've done my part!" and then don't do things like write their lawmakers.

Please, please, please... let this silly thread and silly "petition" die.

I am pretty sure most folks here have done already pretty much everything they can do to defeat this bill. One more thing ain't gonna hurt but might help. However, I agree that this should not be a substitute for writing letters, calling, etc.
