Erickson, who now writes for a newspaper in Maryland, says he intended to do an analysis of who received pistol permits in Fairfield County to evaluate whether people with criminal records were receiving them.

Some of these hammerhead do-gooders just don't get it. The NICS takes care of that to the extent that viable information has been submitted by courts and states. Why can't they understand that just because we may CCW doesn't mean we are criminally inclined. When has anyone heard of a bank robber getting a CCW so he could legally carry a firearm to the robbery?!
