HK P7 PSP IWB holster options/pictures

From researching P7 holsters, Del Fatti and Milt Sparks holsters keep getting mentioned, along with really long wait times.

Is there a quality alternative? And I don’t see any pictures of the IWB holster with gun actually on a person. Can anyone post a picture of how the P7 conceals on you with your holster?

Are used holsters generally a good deal for the P7?

I bought a Kramer IWB in Sharkskin that made it to me in less than a month for my P7, I'd bet they can get a leather or horsehide to you pretty quick.

I have only used the Milt Sparks VMII and SSII for a Kimber Ultra CDP II and a Glock 23 and can't imagine anything else being more comfortable. If you don't want to wait 5 months like I am for my Glock 23 VMII look here. It ends in a little over a day. I don't think you will be sorry and this one is horsehide as well.

What is the functional differance between horse and cow hide?

From the pictures of IWB holsters it is hard for me to imagine what they look like with a pistol on a person.

I doubt that there is a functional difference between the two, but don't know for sure. This much I do know, while in special forces, we used horsehide exclusively, as it is much more resistant to salt water than cowhide.

If you sweat a lot, or live in a hot climate, horsehide should last longer.

Be very careful when choosing holsters for P7 family of pistols!
Because the design of the P7 has most of the mass well behind the trigger, most traditional holster designs will not hold the P7s very well. A 'standard' traditional holster adapted for the P7 will oftentimes fail because of the imbalance.

You need a holster that will be able to grip the gun well enough by the trigger guard and short barrel and not fall out because of weight. because of this, only a few holster designs will will work well, such as the VMII.

I have a UBG holster for the PSP. I haven't used it much yet, because I've mainly been carrying a USP .45c, but it's a good quality holster for a very good price. Wait time was only a few weeks and Nate was great to work with.

There are quite a few more options for the m8 variant of the p7 than the pure p7/psp . I picked up one of the newly retired psp style and have a holster ordered from kevin at www.kdholsters.com/ I have to say that his wait time has gone up, but from all acounts he builds a great holster , and unlike many bigger names he does have the proper " dummygun " to mould and bone the holster .

If you happen to be a member of tfl contact wildalaska over there , he sells for a holstermaker up there ( in Alaska ) that seems to do a fine job and with an aprox 2 week wait time at last report .

I believe Mitch Rosen makes a holster specifically for that series of guns. I have nothing but good things to say about Mitch Rosen and the products I have of his are superb.

i carry my psp in a blade tec iwb.its light ,well constructed,with a good rep.i cant say its that it is the end all,but i couldn't wait months.

K&D holsters don’t appear to only come with metal clips, not the leather loops. I want the leather loops.

waffenthomas: Can you recommend any other particular horsehide design (besides Kramer) from your special forces days? Were you issued something everyone had to use or did they allow you to go with what you favored? Did you use retention straps or other devices on your holster?

We have both the P7M8 and P7PSP models for which to make holsters. There is a difference between the two with respect to the trigger guard area.

What is the turn around time? I am helping my wife select my Christmas gift.

I just use a Michaels belt slide. Works for and fits nearly every auto I have. Ambidextrous. Cost 20 bucks.

I have a Kramer horsehide holster for my P7 that I like a lot. Now its an OWB holster but the P7 just locks right in. Im wanting an IWB holster and I plan to go with a Milt Sparks VMII.
