What do you all think is a good price for this gun.
My gun shop has two used but never fired 2 tone models that they are asking 625.00 for. I thought this seemed like an excellent deal so I had them hold one back for me while I made up my mind(in other words ask you all).

The gun is in perfect condition but comes with only one mag and no box/paperwork. They even offered to throw in a 10 round mag at their cost.

To me this seems like a hell of a deal, however I would like second opinions before I jump.

P.S. This is the model with the safety/decocker. Sorry I don't know the proper designation.

That's not a terrible deal but you can definately do better. Most used USP's go for around $550 or so with high caps. CDNN has brand new stainless compacts at $640.

I can't remember how much I bought my USP40c for, but $625 sounds about right. Look around though. You can probably find a better deal.

And it only comes with one magazine? Mine came with two. Hmmm... :scrutiny:

$625?

Azizza,
$625 isn't too bad, but check gunbroker.com and THR and be patient unless you have a strong need to get it.

I get mine from gun auction sites and somehow I get good deals from the Texas folks.

I like the two that I have although at one point in time, I had four of them. (I have a bad habit of straying and lust after the newest toy.)

Keep in mind that factory mags will run you at least $40.

I think that I saw one about a couple of weeks ago that the seller had for about $450 with six mags. Unfortunately, I was not in a good spot..financially. That is an exceptional deal, though.

Good luck.

Find a dealer that will do transfers for a set fee,$10 or $20 or so.Wholesale on those pistols is around $565,give or take a couple dollars for differences in wholesalers prices.RSR group is $563.xx or so.Add shipping and transfer fee and you'll still save a little bit,,,

I could find no USPs at the Indy 1500 show for less than $630.

also remember that they don't make the two tone/stainless pistols anymore. i still think its a bit high for a used gun with only one mag. if it has nightsights it might be worth it. mine was $675 + tax when i bought it new in 2000. definately worth it, but for used, you can probably do better by shopping around a little. check out www.hkpro.com classifieds too. 12 round mags are still rare as hen's teeth. at least they are in my area.

I know it is used but keep in mind the gun is in unfired condition which in my opinion negates the used status. Also it does have night sights so I knwo that helps a bit.

New USP compacts around here are almost 800 bucks that is why I thought it seemed to be a pretty good deal and it is my understanding that you can't get the stainless anymore.

With night sights, that is a good deal. Jump on it.

Might as well get some 12 rounders for it. I just bought three today from my dealer for $37 each which is a good price (for HK mags).

(Bobarino, they do seem to be as rare as hen's teeth. I got tired of waiting / looking for USP .357 c 12 rounders. I just had my HK dealer order them for me. They were there in 3 days.)

H&k P2000

I recently came into possession of a P2000 in .40 S&W. So far I have nothing but praise for the weapon and would recommend it to anyone. I do have a question concerning the P2000 and other USP's that I am hoping someone can help me with. Will other USP magazines fit and function in the P2000?

Thanks,
GTH

I found a USPc 9 today at the Indy 1500 and got it for $599. It looks like whoever bought it never fired it at all.

Wardog,

i did manage to find a couple used LEO marked 12 rounders right after the ban expired. they have the finger rest though and i'd like the flush ones. the $19.95 price made it all better though. :)

gth12827,

the USP compact .40S&W and .357Sig mags will fit your P2000.

Bobby

HK had a deal a few years ago where you could purchase a USP40 Compact that came in a cardboard box with 1 mag for somewhere in the $600 - $625 range.

These days, the new USP Compacts I see in dealer shelves are $749 - $799 and of course they're not two-tone.

I almost purchased an HE finish a while back for $540 which I thought was a good deal at the time. I think it's a pretty good deal.

Anyone interested in an HK pistol, go download the latest CDNN catalog.
Two tone 9mm USPc for $599 with 2 10 round mags. Lots of other good deals including P2000's for $640

Bobby, that is a score on the mags. I did score a used USP f .45 12 rounder for $20 at my local FFL.

Is it just me or does anyone else seem to think that there aren't too many used compacts on the market? Or is it something that goes in cycles?

I wouldn't mind picking up a compact in 9mm. One of the local shops wants $725 for a new one but I don't know if I want to buy a new one. My attitude now is that some guns, such as the Sigs, H&K's, Glocks, etc... are so well made that having a few thousand rounds through them is barely broken in.

I've seen Ordnance Outsellers has their compacts in the $650 range or so, at least they did last I checked.

In the latest KYImports catalog, used DA/SA variant w/night sights is $450, DAO version is $400. Not sure if this is FFL pricing only though.
Since I have given up jumping thru the hoops for handgun purchase here in CA, I leave this super hot deal to you guys.:)

Catalog/online prices don't reflect shipping, insurance & transfer fees, but usually don't involve sales tax. Gots to look at the whole deal, the  is in the details. Good luck, they're great guns.

I haven't found that many HKs in general at the shops or shows. Hence the reason I've bitten the bullet and purchased the three I did find. Two full size, one compact.

I've seen them new for $650 but I want to search for a used one before I make the plunge for a new one. That would be the most expensive gun I will have purchased. I'm convinced I can save at least $100 if I buy used. Since I would like it in 9, that's a few hundred rounds to have fun with.

Where I am, its a good price. California sux... These are hard to find (for me) locally and the few FFL guys I know of (so far) charge between $50 and $90 per transfer so online deals loose their luster pretty quickly. If you are patient and you search, you might find a better price. I have seen a few new ones for $650 (+shipping)

10 round factory mags are cheap if you look. I just ordered some for my USPc .40 for $11.99 each and $4 shipping no matter how many you buy.
try www.tannerssportcenter.com or call and ask for Raymond. They ran an add on gunbroker so they could be sold out by now...
