I was looking at BTC's website at his "short grip" modifications he does on Glocks and XD's and just wondered if it would be possible chop the USP compact grip down to P2000SK proportions. I'm not an HK expert so I'm not sure if there's any mechanism housed in th backstrap that would make this impossible.

How much would a job like this cost, and how much would you get for you USP?.

Add the two of those and then see how much a P2000sk cost.

the hammer strut is there, and so is the part that holds it in its place. if you chop the grip, you need to chop the strut, spring, and come up with a different lanyard loop insert, or remake the chopped frame to fit the insert.

is this worth it? buy a smaller pistol.

Sounds like he doesn't offer this modification on HK's for a reason. I just didn;t know if th grip was all polymer like the Glock and XD. Guess that answers that.

Yes, I have never seen an HK "chopped" - Its not an issue on a glock because there is nothing in the grip. Can't really do it w/ an external hammer gun... (Well, they are bobtailing 1911s, but thats about it)...
