I've seen several pics of USPs around here with that rubber overmold grip sleeve..who makes it and what price should I expect to pay for one?

Also, I'm really thinking about doing an LEM conversion to my USPc .40. I realized after owning (and selling) a Walther P99 AS that I'm not too fond of shooting DA/SA guns. I prefer something that has a more consistent trigger pull, like a Glock or XD. However, I don't like having a long reset like the pure DAO triggers have. As far as I understand, the LEM is like a lighter DA pull w/ a short reset that feels similar to a Glock trigger pull. I just don't want the pull to be as long as the DA pull on my USPc the way it is right now. I'd like it to feel similar to a Glock, XD, or M&P trigger pull.

Could someone please explain EXACTLY how the pull would be with a 4.5-5lbs LEM trigger? Does anyone offer a good LEM trigger job for a decent price, or should I get the conversion kit and do it myself?

So why not just carry the USP in Condition 1?

As far as a rubber grip, a piece of bike inner tube cut and stretched over the grip works very well, and costs about $3.

I have the Hogue Handall on my USPc .40....I tried it with and without, and like the with better.

I dig the standard USP grips, and it's one of the most balanced, sturdy pistols around....but with the Hogue, it's even more stable with a push/pull hand grip.

They aren't expensive...try em and if you don't like em, you're only out a few sheckles.

Thanks guys. I'll buy one just for the heck of it and see how I like it...

Any input on whether or not I should go w/ the LEM conversion? I really do prefer guns without safeties, and I still can't get used to a DA/SA trigger. Maybe I just need to give it more time, maybe not.

How does the LEM trigger really feel when shooting it? Does it feel anything like a Glock or XD trigger in that it stacks up a little then there's a positive "click" at the end of the pull? Or does it feel like a DAO (ie: Kahr, revolver) trigger where it's a consistent pull that has a surprise release? How's the reset and does it feel good when rapid firing?

I've shot the HK P2000 .40 w/ LEM trigger. If it didn't cost so much I would've bought it when I was home last in PA. It feels like shooting any gun in SA, except with a little longer trigger pull. I shot the hell out of the P2000 LEM alongside a Sig P229 and to be honest, I couldn't decide which to buy so the Sig came first (got it on consignment for cheap) and the HK will come later. I don't know where you're at, but I live in San Diego and Iron Sights Shooting Range in Oceanside has the P2000 LEM model for rent.
