Are the alloy magazines as good as the steel ones and does any manufacturer make a magazine coupler to put two magazines together for a quick reload?

I've had great luck with the alloy mags reliability wise. And, at 3 or 4 bucks each they are hard to pass up. I bought a box of 20 lightly used a while back from RTG and they all worked just fine.

I have been using the alloy ones with no issues. Cheaper than Dirt currently has used ones for 99 cents apiece.
I've got both alloy and steel, under even abnormal use both are fairly indestructible.
Weight wise I know which I'd rather carry.
As far as mag couplers, there are a slew of aftermarket ones out there and almost 100% that one of the usual suppliers of HK parts would have factory ones. Google "G3 magazine coupler" or "HK91 magazine coupler" and you'll find a few.
