HKMR556A1 Load Preferences

Hello All,

I am looking for some handload feedback on the HK MR556A1. After shooting M193 @ 100 yards and getting some poor groupings, I tried some of my own 55 grain loads and the rifle shot extremely well. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this rifle and shot groups that performed well. What were your results with what recipes?

Good bullets make good groups.

FMJ-BT military bullets will not group real good under the best of circumstances.

Bullets with the jacket hole in the nose, be they SP, HP, or Ballistic-Tip plastic will almost always cut your group size in half or more.
Regardless of the rifle make or model.
Regardless of the powder type & charge.

Here is two groups from my Colt SP1 pencil barrel carbine.
Exact same loads only Win 55 FMJ-BT and Nosler Ballistic-Tip.

Thank you for the reply...I will definitely keep that feedback in mind...but I was really looking for more input directly from individuals who have my rifle and have loads that they have built around it.
