So, I know that hogs cause major issues to whatever environment they populate. But, I'm kinda looking forward to being able to go out anytime of the year and put food on the table. How far north have they migrated and can they survive a Minnesota winter? Have any states put any regulations on them? Thanks

can they survive a Minnesota winter
I bet they could, no problem.

I'm from southern Iowa (2 mi from Missouri border) and we don't have them there, yet. Live in Wisconsin, and we don't have them here, either. Got you covered from the south and east. I think Minnesota is free of wild hogs, for now. Not to say there might be a few that escaped a farm, here and there.

I'd bet pigs would survive even the harsh Minnesota winters. They are very adaptable to nearly every kind of enviroment. As for regulations, contact your local Department of Fish and Game.

I don't think that you even need a hunting licence to kill them most places. If there are any restrictions, I would bet the limits and hours are very, very lenient.

The Iowa DNR says they are trying to gain a foothold, and encourages people to kill on sight, and call them so they can take a blood sample. I've talked to people that know a guy who know a guy (you know how that is) who have seen them, but I never talked to anyone who has killed one in Iowa. I'm sure it is only a matter of time.
