I was just thinking about building an EBSG and looking at a Hogue "overmolded" stock. Where did you get yours? Might I ask the cost? It sounds like you have others. Do you like 'em?

Eww...I hate rubber on guns...

Good thing I'm not dictator for life!

I want that Hogue arctic camo toilet seat when I get my own apt. Solid cheek weld yet good eye relief!

Hogues are good equipment, IMO.

I'm not certain of the need for a Compstock, but this 12 LOP stock has little to complain about.

It's for pixies, kids, those folks who wear lots of body armor or just like a shorter stock for "Serious" use.

A small caveat, establish before plunking down your money that it'll handle a sling stud or two.

HTH....

Thank's Dave.....judging from the picture it looks like it will.

That 12" LOP has really got me thinking....
I prefer wood and, in fact, enjoy restoring beat up wood stocks for my 870's.
In my opinion, there is nothing better lookin' than one of my lovely old 870's.
But.....
It would be kinda neat to build a 12" LOP EBSG or EASG if you will.
Hmmmmmmm.

Skunk.....get the one with the side saddle you never know

(Wiping coffee off monitor)...

Sonny, that made my morning, thanks.

Got to thinking about this last night, so I pulled on Kevlar, grabbed the 870YE with its 13" pull, made sure it was empty and tried some mounts. Then repeated with Frankenstein, LOP about 14 3/4". The YE was a little easier to get right. The two "Serious" 870s here fall in between at 14 -14 1/4".

I'd rather have a stock a little short than too long. This Hogue cadet stock should be close to ideal in length for "Serious" use for many folks, and doable in armor or winter duds....

Dave... if you have daughters, which gun do you greet their boyfriends at the door with? Helmet, goggles, boots, full body armor.... The icing on the cake would be a laser pointer you can point at the junction between his torso and legs as you lecture him on what time to have your precious back by and what is appropriate contact!!!

I'll add something here. I do enjoy having a long stock on my shotguns, however I don't regularly shoot during the winter and I don't own body armor (yet). I'll have to make it a point to shoot a few times with my HD shotgun and a thick winter coat with gloves.

Badger, my first real love was a 6 foot tall quarter Comanche girl whose 6'4" father had left a leg behind on Guadacanal or some such. First time I picked her up at home, I met all three of her big brothers and her dad showed me ALL his gun collection. It didn't stop me from doing what we were doing, but the danger added a bit of spice.

Now that I have a daughter, I understand perfectly. Her escorts don't get the full Monty, but they know I own guns and spent 20 years as a professional thug. Looking like someone who might know Tony Soprano helps....
