Hi all. I have a Taurus 1911 w/rail and I am looking for a good range holster. I looked at the Blackhawk SERPA but they do not have one to fit a 1911 w/rail. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Any of the Blackhawk 1911 SERPA holsters will fit a railed Taurus 1911 (and generally, any railed 1911 with the possible exception of the full-rail style such as certain Springfield Operators).

Not according to the Blackhawk rep who replied to my email. I also tried it in a 1911 SERPA holster and it would not fit (hence the email to Blackhawk).

My advice would be to find a store that has the holster you're interested in and see if they'll let you try it. Only way to tell for sure.

I have a stainless PT1911 w/rail and it fits an IWB holster for a Kimber TLE II rail. It's a little tight but holsters from this maker (a local custom maker) usually are. I asked and he said his mold is specific for the TLE rail.

I've inquired with one other maker who told me that he didn't make a holster for this gun but did list one for the TLE rail. Later he emailed me back and told me his TLE holster would fit the PT1911 - he misread my e-mail. I can only guess he thought I meant the Taurus PT911 rather than the PT1911. Could be the case here. Also, CS reps, as a rule, will tell you "no" if they can't answer or don't know the answer to the question.

fobus has the new revolution series holsters, that are in my opinion better than there other stuff. anyway i have one of the 1911 holsters for a rail. and so far i have no complaints, it is not gonna be carried like that, but just a holster to use at the range, even though it still fits close to the body and i have no complaiants yet. btw i have a sa mc operator that rides inside of it.

Blade Tech has a mold for the PT1911 AR. My holster arrived last week, a drop and offset it's an excellent holster. I had to order it by phone because it was not on any of the pull down menus on their web site.

I have tried other holsters for other makers railed guns and none would fit, Serpa, Blade Techs, Safariland, and Uncle Mikes.
I used a DeSantis Yaqui Slide with it and it worked okay but I did not like that much of the gun exposed below the holser.

Blackhawk Industries just started making a paddle holster with belt attachment for the PT1911 with rails 2 weeks ago. They do not show it on their web site but if you call they will tell you. Not sure of the quality of their product because my order has not arrived yet. Good Luck

Sorry, the company was Bladetech Industries that makes the holster for the Taurus PT1911 with rails! Again, it is not mentioned on their web site but if you call they will tell you about them.

Whoever the Blackhawk rep was, well, they are a freakin' idiot because I have carried a Kimber 1911w/ rail in a Serpa holster for the past 3 years. I called blackhawk and asked, they told me that all of their 1911 holsters and beretta 92/96 holsters fit with or without a rail. The only gun I have found with a rail that won't fit the Blackhawk serpa is one built on a Caspian Recon 1911 frame with rail, the rail is lower on the frame to add extra weight to the front of the gun. I have two 1911 serpa holsters one is 3 years old and one is about 3 months old, both fit a 1911 with rail. You must have just gotten a hold of a moron at blackhawk that day you called. Other suppliers are bladetech and fobus makes a evolution holster to fit 1911 w/rails. I'd personally go for the blackhawk, i've tried the others and like it the best for comfort and security.

Where did you get those grips. That's very nice. How was the price on that holster. I have the same grips but they are the red cherry stain.
