i know this has been beat to death but i need help. im 6'3" and around 200lbs. can somebody help me choose a ccw holster for a fullsize 1911?
i am willing to dress around it as much as possible

I have to agree, Milt Sparks either their VM-II or their Watch 6, are great holsters. The only other holster that I find will rival the Milt Sparks is the IWB by TT Gunleather. They are very similar to the Milt Sparks, but are better priced and much better timewise. They are google-able.
For OWB, I prefer the Galco Combatmaster or the DeSanti. Hope this helps.:D

Here's my .02 for what it's worth.

The 5 inch is a long barrel - if you get something like the VMII (from any number of makers) make sure you mention that it's a full size and it might need to ride a little higher than the holsters they make for shorter barreled guns. UBG Holsters, Southern Holsters, K&D Holsters, Milt Sparks and many others make the kind of holster being talked about here. Don't demand a 'high ride' but let the holster maker do what's best.

Kydex tends to be a little thinner than leather - and it's often the case that the thinnest possible holster becomes the easier to get in the pants holster, the less pinching holster etc. For this reason I strongly favor BearClaw Holsters as they shave off every bit of unneeded kydex so their designs are streamlined for carry and comfort. I also think very highly of Dan Hillsman's Holsters, and a lot of people love Comp Tac.

blade tech paddle, don hume paddles, there are many various models made by both companies, and you could even look at thier iwb models if that is an option for you. the don humes fit snug to teh body and are cofortable to wear all day. they are pretty inexpensive too. there are many great companies out there but i like those the best.

also if iwb is an option then check out grand father oak holsters, they make great products and i have one of thier iwb holsters and it is ery nice, concealabe, and fast to draw from.

The Galco IWB summer comfortable special companion (or whatever they call it,) is GREAT. Its quite a bit less expensive than the same thing from Milt Sparks, and they're on the store shelves!

Brownells carries the Milt Sparks Summer Special II in stock. If you don't have an account it lists for $85. If you do have any account, make sure that you check to see under My Account>Customer Profile, you have yourself listed as a gunsmith. The holster will then be priced @ $73.67.
