In the past I had a Ruger Mk II Govt. Model with the 6 7/8" bull barrel, and one of the reasons that I got rid of it was that I could not find a holster that I liked for it, and I do not want ot carry it in my hands all the time.

I find that I would like to buy another, but I want to know what holster options that I have beforehand.

I remember seeing one years ago that may have been for this pistol, I think it was through a company called Phoenix, perhaps. It was a desert camo, cloth flap holster, that also had a couple of pockets for spare mags.

If you have a Mk II Govt. Model, what kind of holster do you use.

Thanks in advance.

Many years ago when I had the choice there were two Ruger MK II's in the gun case at a local store. One was the Government Target model and the other was the 5.5 in bull barrel Target Model. I went with the 5.5 and bought a nice leather holster for it. I sometimes carry it but its mainly a range gun as I have a 4 inch bull barrel Target Model for carry/plinking. However, I think the 6 7/8 Government Model is better suited for the range use and not carry. Your call, but I chose the smaller for dual use.

Now I want a Government Target Model for the range and kick myself for not buying both.

Can't help you with the holster. Sorry.

If you want something just to carry it in the field, maybe check out those cheap Uncle Mike's nylon holsters, they probably make something big enough for it. And then get some double mag pouches for the MKII, I have some of those, they work nice.

Another inexpensive option is Ace Case. They have fabric holsters, look like Uncle Mikes but the interior is much softer and will cause less finish wear. I have several, but don't carry often.
