I am looking for a holster for my model 19-3 with a 4" barrel.

Currently have a nylon cheapie that just doesn't keep the gun tight against my body. Considering buying a 2" belt - noticed it moves around too much with a 1 1/2"...

Prefer belt holster, but would consider a back holster as well.

I have seen alot of the "pancake" styles on folks - but mainly they were carrying auto's.

Big guy here - 6'2" - 300lbs...

Appreciate your input in advance,

I have a Safariland pancake holster that I bought used in excellent shape from J&G. I have no use for it as I never carry the gun. PM me if you are interested. I'll make you a good deal.

I've bought a couple of holsters from this place. They work plenty good for me and the prices are right. I've got one of this model for my Colt Commander, and when I get my Model 19 (4") out of layaway, I plan to get one for that also.

Glick on "all items in store" and you'll find some others that will work with the Model 19. Their service is very quick. I usually get my order in about three days but they're just down the road from me. When I've e-mailed them, I get an answer back in a few hours.

You should have no problems find a good holster. I'd be willing to bet there are more 4" K-frame holsters out there than any others.

I have two holsters from Safariland for 4-inch, K/L-frame revolvers.

One is a normal, Class 2 retention, duty holster. The second is an "under the coat", "outside the belt", concealment holster. I'm very pleased with both and use them daily.

If you don't like Safariland for some reason, it's not hard to find other vendors with good stuff for 4-inch, K/L-frame firearms.

This holster will be for conceal and carry...

Thankyou all for your suggestions!

After careful consideration, I think I am gonna order a pancake from simply rugged.

You won't regret the Simply Rugged. I have nine.
They are extremely comfortble and the high sides cover up lots of metal for two benefits- keeping the hard bits from biting you during strenous activity, and keeping a smooth profile on the cover garment.
I have one that disappears a full-sized four-inch Python so well even my most gun-concious friends can't spot it under a light shirt.
The only bad part is that he's getting further and further behind.
