I'll soon be picking up a sweet model 65, round butt, 3" barrel. Only thing is I don't have a holster for it and honestly don't have much experience carrying with one.

Recommendations, anyone? I'm not sure about IWB carry because of the thickness of the K frame cylinder. OTOH, I don't know how much use I'd get out of an OWB piece just because I wouldn't use it often. Which means my inclination might be more with IWB carry if it's practical. What experience have you guys had?

No SOB carry for me, thanks...

I have a S&W Model-13 with a 3 inch barrel --- same as your Model-65, just in blue.

I like the "Bianchi Cyclone 111" OWB holster. It allows me to carry strong-side or cross-draw. Good quality leather and comfortable.

I make holsters and I carry a Model 66 2.5" in an OWB The Slide and IWB Double J-clip holster.

Here is some pics.

IWB is doable if your pants have the slack in them. OWB is far more comfortable for me. If you go OWB, the ubiquitous photographers vest or some other cover garment becomes de rigeur.

I like the Sparks PMK for a sub 3" revolver:

Srigs,

looking for a new carry pistol and will buy a holster from you. Not only are you a thr guy but you don't hose people on shipping.

I like holsters from several of the companies already mentioned in this thread. I think Simply Rugged makes good holsters. Their The Sourdough Pancake holster will make for a comfortable all-day carry.

I also like Don Hume holsters. I think they are a good quality produce for a fair price.

If you don't find something you like from the above companies I also like DeSantis Holsters. I have several including their Thumb Break Scabbard and their Speed Scabbard which has an open top without a thumb break. Both are very comfortable for all day use. I have thumb break Scabbard for my 4" S&W M686 and a Speed Scabbard for my 2 3/4" Ruger Police Service-Six.

You will probably like the Speed Scabbard for your 3" M65.

I only cover my cost on shipping because doing anything but that does not feel right.
