I'm trying to find a suitable holster for my new Beretta 9000 (I know - but it was going REAL cheap). I see it as a challenge because this .40 caliber monster has the fattest slide you've ever seen.

I put this in "General" because I know that noone really carries the 9000 except Tom Cruise, so I had a couple of general questions.

I don't really want to spend a $100 or more so I'm looking at Don Hume, Uncle Mikes and Kydex from anywhere.

I want an IWB holster that will not "fatten" the gun to any appreciable degree, so is Kydex the best material, can that be carried comfortably IWB or is it hip carry only, is it comfortable. Are nylon holsters fatter than leather.

I'm just kind of brainstorming this, and holsters are not a strong point of mine, so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks Southpaw.

Didn't know about the 9000 making a second movie appearence, I guess it is kind of photogenic.

Try a visit to www.gunnersalley.com

They carry just about the whole Don Hume and Fist product line, as well as G-code and a few others. They're quick, prices tend to be just a little better (most times, price is just a little lower than direct from manufacturer, but you save on shipping).

Can't help ya with the holster question, but as far as movie appearences:

I believe Niobe in Matrix: Reloaded wields the 9000. She does in the game, that's for sure.

As far as Don Hume goes, I almost bought one, but does anyone know if they will make black holsters? I don't care much for brown, and I always wear black belts and dark, if not black, pants, so the brown anything (thinking the belt loops on an IWB model) would just be a dead give away.

I use Don Hume for both on and off duty. Nice fit and finish for the price. I'll second Gunners Alley...Great folks to deal with.
