Holster Question Pro's/Con's

I have a Galco Cop Slide for my G26, which looks the same as the Quick Slide except the Cop Slide has a thumb break. Overall, it's nice. It's a bit tight since I don't use it very often as I prefer my DeSantis Mini Slide without the break if I'm carrying concealed. The rake on the Galco is a bit more to my liking, however. The only reason I bought the Galco was because I wanted something with a thumb break in case I ever decided to open carry. The closest I've come is while my mowing my back yard. The Galco is glossy and the DeSantis is matte. I got one (if not both) from MidwayUSA.

Covering the entire slide is nice as it protects the gun (and the crown of the muzzle!) from the elements and may help lessen printing. However, I don't have that problem with the G26 since the Cop Slide and Mini Slide holsters I have pretty much cover the entire slide.

I have a G23 but the quick slide holster gives me options if I want to get a G22 etc.

I dont currently have any plans of more gun purchases in the future.

With the concealable holster your entire barrel/slide is protected by the holster. One advantage is it aids in weapon retention should a bad person try to strip it from you. If the confrontation goes to the ground a knee/ground can hit the front end of your barrel/slide and pop it out of the holster on the slide holster but not near as likely with the concealable holster.
