I've been looking around the web for holsters that will take a handgun with a laser mounted on a rail underneath the barrel. The particular gun in question is a Taurus PT24/7 (9mm), not something for which there are lots of holsters to begin with. So I'm not expecting to find anything marketed specifically for it with a laser on it. But I'm not even finding anything specifically marketed for more popular handguns with lasers mounted on them. There are various holsters for scoped guns, usually revolvers. I might just have to go to a gunshop and try one of these for fit, if I cannot find something else.

This is not for everyday carry. It would be for "field use" -- meaning just something that would be suitable to strap on if I wanted to carry it for a sidearm while camping or hunting, or whatever. I have several other firearms that already serve that role, and have no specific plans to carry this gun that way, but just the notion of having a handgun with no way to carry it, if the occasion arises, doesn't sit well with me.

I have to imagine that there are at least a few people with lasers on their sidearms, or there wouldn't be a market for them. So how are they carrying them?

TIA.

There are a few holster makers/companies that do offer holsters that accomodate the gun with light and/or laser. What type of holster are you looking for - kydex or leather? What laser are you wanting to put on the gun? With the wide variety of lasers/lights available, the majority of the holster makers are not going to have every particular style - most likely it will only be the most popular styles. So let us know what you're interested in, and we can probably steer you in the direction you can go.
