Holstser suggestions for my 7.5" N-frame (S&W PC 629 Light Hunter) ?

Leather, suede or fabric; not interested in plastic or kydex. Not going to rob a bank to buy this either

7.5" seems to be a hard size to find a discount holster for...

Take a good look at Simply Rugged http://www.simplyrugged.com/ They make an outstanding holster, for a large gun like your 629

In a "generic fit" holster you can get one made for the 8 3/8" barrel and live with the extra length. This is all I can think of for you without going to a custom job.

In the event you win the lottery Lou Alessi's field style shoulder holster (pictures at Lightning Arms) based on a swiveling design by Chic Gaylord is the best I have ever seen, heard of or can imagine, especially for the longer barrels - but it's not inexpensive, though fairly priced, and it's not quick.

Take a look at Uncle Mike's and their Flap Shoulder Holster for hunting handguns. It's nylon and inexspensive. I think you can get it in camo too.

How 'bout a backpack?
I think the largest-size Bianchi X-15 shoulder rig (05, according to the site) would fit one.

Considering the Hunter 1100 but it is out of stock at the moment:

The only negatives I can find is that there is no lining and that there will be an empty 7/8" at the tip on my 7.5".

Perhaps someone has another suggestion?
