Holy cow, a VERY close call!

uhh...thank goodness for "pistol grips" and "guns meant to be fired from the hip"

that was a little close for comfort...maybe next time he should have his gun at the ready? yikes...

Friend of mine from high school runs a safari company in Botswana with his dad and was with them when that video was taken. Six shots were fired but it was the hip shot to the head by the guy that got hit that took the lion down. At least that is what I am told.

he should've drop kicked the lion in the face, stepped over its back, and broke its neck with his bare hands :fire:

but I guess this will do too...:neener:

You watch the slo-mo portion of that video and you see the shock of that lion getting hit...man, I would be mighty curious as to what he was using, that last shot.

FMJMike,

as to your statement, I can't really fault you for the opinion. They aren't going to EAT the lion (at least I don't think they will...do they taste like chicken?) but to be honest I can't fault the hunters either. they are doing it in a natural environment and that actually gives the lion a chance. perhaps you should be a bit more understanding of the fact that there ARE sport hunters on this forum and yeah, even I wouldn't mind doing a hunt like that if I could ever afford it. Although I would rather go for a kodiak or grizzly.

Wow close call:eek:

I would love to hunt Africa some day

and in response to the anti lion shooting posts, hunting pays for the protection and proper management of the animals "ALL ANIMALS". I see no difference in shooting a P-dog, yote, or a lion 'cause I wont eat any of them:barf:

I just don't understand why people kill animals for fun. I wish the lion had killed all three of the hunters/murderers..........

riiiiight.... well, that happens enough in Africa, I guess you would be happy. Clearly, you value animal "rights" over human life.

Nice shooting... just proves those cats are hard to drop. Anyone care for buckshot....

I don't see the fun in killing an animal for sport, but I certainly don't wish death upon people who find hunting enjoyable.

I'm shocked to hear a High Road member suggest that hunters deserve to die.

When I saw that, I assumed that someone had quoted it from the youtube comments. I did a double take when I realized that it was actually a THR member who said it.

Wow, you can see the instant the lion dies when the light goes out of its eyes...

Yeah, I do feel bad for the lion, but not at the expense of killing people.

Close call, good thing he got a lucky shot off, otherwise would have been an 8 minute long video of said guy being mauled by one pissed off lion.

That said, I can't say I support the intentional hunting predators for sport (that video seemed to be more of a self-defense incident anyway), but deer and other pest-like critters are a-ok in my book. We killed all their natural predators, might as well return them the favor by taking their place.

and some people like soccer, some people don't like to eat meat, some people like HD-DVD over BlueRay. Different strokes for different folks. No need to wish harm on them because they are different from you.

Very close call. I could see that it would be very difficult for the other hunters to help that guy if the lion was on top of him.
FMJMIKE, I like to hunt and I hunted this past year but had no luck. Does that mean I am guilty of attempted murder? Do you wish I was dead? Your comment was way out of line.

Dont forget...

Some people want to impose their will on others. For the most part, its the libs.... but here is an example....

As to the Murderers comment... They arent murderers. No one died. Killing an animal is not murder. so, get a bag and do some massive hyperventilation until you calm down
