So, I shot some skeet tonight with my school's trap and skeet club. (http://www.uni.edu/studentorgs/tas/index.html - looking for more sponsors, BTW :D)

I have shot skeet on a "real" skeet range before when I was stationed at Bragg, but that was just informal and among friends. Not that this was particularly formal, but it wasn't just us hanging out shooting doubles whenever we felt like it like we did at Bragg.

Anyways, there were probably about 20 of us out at the local Ike club, with most being traditional college aged kids, but a couple of us "older guys". We had about 4 or 5 women out shooting too, which I thought was great - the more people that shoot, especially women, the better. I only shot skeet, but others shot only trap, and some shot both.

We had a good time, and I got some pointers, and learned more about the etiquette of the game. I certainly didn't shoot as well as I would have liked to, but I shot a bit better than I expected (an 8 and a 9 - I thought I would suck even worse).

I'm definitely looking forward to next week to have some fun, and to continue to learn more, and I am definitely looking forward to improving my score.

Good for you!. Skeet aren't hard to hit, but they sure are easy to miss!.......
Once you get your form and timing down, you'll be slaying them with regularity. Don't forget to try trap, 5-stand and sporting clays as well - they're ALL fun
