Sounds like you’re off to a good start. If your not sure about any aspect of reloading find out what to do before you make a mistake that could lead to injury or worse. This forum has a lot of good people here that will help you if you have questions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I really like reloading, good reloading to you.

You should pick up a good set of calipers before you get started. It is important to know the COL (Cartridge Overall Length) of your handloaded ammo. The RCBS Kit comes with the latest Speer Manual. Take the time to read it (not the load data, the "How To" of reloading). Then read it again. I would also pick up another manual or two. Lyman 48th is a good inexpensive start. Read it also. Way to go! If you didn't get a set of calipers, get some - Franford Arsenal cheapies from Midway work great. A tumbler is very good to have, same generic Frankford Arsenal brand works well for me, and a case trimmers, (the ultimate cheapie, Lee) is a good idea.
Now, take it slow, consult many differant books for your recipes, and have a blast - pun intended.

Calipers are a must. Also, read the manuals front to back.

Another good thing to have is a good bound book for writing down recipes and a chronograph when funds permit.

You really do need a place to shoot.
Get all enthused and load up a large supply of inferior ammo before testing a few and you will learn what a bullet puller is for. I pulled a bunch of bullets earlier this year and demoted some more ammo to barrel breakin, preliminary sighters, and fouling shots because what looked good in print (or monitor) did not work on the range.

Well, I got started last Thanksgiving on this catridge reloading stuff. I learn a lot since then. It is not that difficult. It is a lot of fun shooting what you just realoaded the night before. There are things that you need to pay attentions to since this is dangerous stuffs. Follow the powder manufacturer recommendation on how much powder to use. I have not exceed the starting recommended load yet. Be consevative, error on the safe side.

Read the book, go back and read the relevant chapters again, and again when you have problems. I found things in there that I missed the first time around. Ask a lot of questions, there are many experts here on the forum. But always be skeptical on the answers that you get. Pick the answers that are best for you situation. Internet info is not as trusting as what you get from a book from a good source.

I have a lot of fun doing it while saving some money to buy other toys. I suspect that you will as well.

I know what you all mean with the calipers. Luckily my dad owns a machine shop, so not only do I have like 30 calipers and micrometers at my disposal, but I also have CNC machines that can help me make any certain things I might need to help for my reloading. I'm thinking of making myself a case trimmer. For now, I don't know exactly what I might need to make, but when I become more experienced, I'll know what I can make and such. We'll see what happens. Tomorrow I'm going to resize and deprime my first 300 or so cases. I can't wait.

Couple more things you need:

1. SAFETY GLASSES
2. At least one more manual for data cross reference.
