This is COMPLETELY beyond me. The reason I stopped using Hoppe's solvent was because I had to triple baggy it to stop the stink from permeating my closet.
If you find the smell of hydrocarbons pleasing then you have me utterly confused.

I actually enjoy the smell of gasoline. I used to like it more as a kid, but the knowledge that its harmful has made it less appealing.

I'll be buying a stack of these as stocking stuffers for Christmas. One whiff of that bottle and I'm a 14 year old kid back at the hunting shack after a long day waiting for ducks or bambi. Even though I don't use it anymore, I still love the smell of it.

I have a bottle of the old formula where the aroma is much stronger. I use it to go back to the age when I was a kid by taking a whiff now and then. I have used Hoppe's for over 50 years and will do so until I pass on.....chris3
