I have a Hornady 9mm die set (new dimension dies). Has anyone loaded .380 auto with these dies? The expander says "9mm, .380 auto" right on it. With some adjustments will the sizing/deprime and seat/crimp dies also work with .380?
thanx

You will at least need a new sizing die since the case OD dimensions of the two cartridges are different. You may need a different crimping die but you can try a .380 case in your 9mm crimp die to see if you can get it in deep enough to put on a crimp. Its probably just as cheap to buy a new die set as to try to get the 2 dies as individuals.

The 9x19 sizer is tapered and would not size the 380 case all the way down. The seating/crimp die is too deep to impart a crimp. There's just going to be multiple issues.

Buy another die set and get another 100 free bullets !!

The seating/crimping die, and the expander die are both labeled (9mm-380) on the hornady website. I think only the deprime/resize die is different, so if you wanted to do it on the cheap, you could buy just the deprime/resize die, and use the expander & seat/crimp die from the 9mm set.
If it were me, I'd buy the 380 set, get the rebate bullets, and not be bothered by possessing two duplicate dies (redundancy has it's advantages)
