Hornady LnL Ez-Ject problem

The ejector stud should be a replaceable insert, and made from a harder metal.

Used a mild steel welding rod, I haven't measured hardness.

It was meant to be a temporary fix, when the problem recurs, I plan to grind it off and drill and tap for in insert.

Get Hornady to send you the replacement parts, base and hub. The Shell Plate ideally should be 0.003"0.005" above the base. Hornady's spec allows for 0.010". My press has the minimum which is best.

Another note if you get some badly worn brass where the rim is rounded you can still have problems. Smaller the base the more prone it is to tilting.
