My LNL powder measure is developing minor rust spots on the bare metal surfaces. I havent experienced this on other metalic bodied powder measures.

Is there a powder safe lubricant available that wont require me to disassemble and degrease the powder measure before every reloading session?

I don't know of one. If I don't keep the rotor surfaces clean and lightly oiled, I get rust. As you can see, the external surfaces of this Pacific Deluxe powder measure have turned brown from corrosion. I wipe the rotor, the micrometer assembly, after each use, and oil the surfaces. I am curious if there are some better suggestions.

I removed the drum on on mine and electroplated it with copper. This was done about 10 yrs ago, never a problem. I used paste wax before with good luck. Since then I have added a dehumidifier to the room, problem solved.

As barrel browning goes, that's pretty nice job; the obvious implication is that you could rust brown or rust blue your powder measure. It'd be good practice for finishing a weapon.

If you buff the rust occasionally, you'll eventually end up with a very traditional rust brown.

I never considered blueing the surfaces, I may have to try that.

To prevent rust you can spray the external metal surfaces with Hornady One Shot or Dillon Case Lube. The main component of these type lubes is a wax, which seals out humidity. You may already have some of this. It works great on dies too.

I spray mine with Hornady One Shot Gun Cleaner & Lube to clean and protect it. So far that has work well. I don't clean it off before I start reloading and have not had any issues. Just spray the parts down, wipe them off and let them dry.
