Hi guys, i am just starting to reload my own ammunition, actually just did my first 25rds last nite, and was wondering if these are a good choice in a .270WSM or if they will fall apart?? I should be in the neighborhood of 3200fps w/140gr bullet with the load I am trying out tomorrow. I shot Nosler Accubonds (Federal Premium) last season and was VERY happy with their performance but they are nearly twice the price of the SST's from what I saw tonite at the store. I loaded Accubonds this time but I am wondering if these will have similar perfomance at roughly 1/2 the price, thanks in advance.

i busted a few deer from 50 - 425 yards w/ 'em from a 7 rem mag. i shot, deer, dropped, no bullet recovered. 'bout what i expected: perfect performance.

also look into sierra pro-hunters for that velocity and use.

I load the 150 SST for a friend in the .270 wsm. He and his dad have killed several deer with this bullet and have been happy with the results. I use the 150 SST in my '06 and have had great performance as well.

SSTs are the shiznitz!

Bud,
I've been huntin' mostly in TX for the last couple decades. They have a 5 deer limit!:D I made the switch to SSTs about 16 years ago, and there's nothing like them for deer. I've shot 140 gn in a 7-08, 150s & 165s in a 30-06, and 180s in a 300 Win Mag; out of over 70 deer, not one has gone thirty feet, and most are anchored where they stand. You don't get nearly the meat damage Balistic Tips provide you with either. Add a "few" hogs to that mix, and SSTs have beem feedin' me and mine REAL well for quite a spell. Only thing could make me like 'em more is if they paid me a commission!

165 grain in 30-06 is my death ray for white tail. I have taken 7 in the last 2 years with it. All were one shot stops, except one. It would have been, but I added an insurance round.

Great accuracy and a golf ball sized exit. All exited. Much blood in the chest cavity.
